Meet Member owner #1000

The mission of the Dorchester Food Co-op (DFC)
is to challenge the traditional food system
by building a community and worker-owned asset
that nourishes, employs, and reinvests in the local community.

SMITH

"My name is Smith, and I live with my wife and three growing sons in the Codman Square area. I am delighted to be a part of the Dorchester Co-op as a member-owner. I am involved in my community and I have always believed that working together can bring us greater success. So it was quite natural for me to join the Co-op.

Being a member-owner of the Co-op means that I will be connected to members of my community, addressing social determinants of health. While historically food has been used to control the marginalized, we are in a position to rewrite our own narrative and serve as a catalyst for change. And it is not just about food, it is about amplifying the voices of residents, it is about giving residents ownership of something that affects our daily lives, it is about changing the perceptions of those who have not experienced their sense of power, it is about transforming people's lives.

There is still time to join, so reach out to someone and be part of the change you hope to see. Together we can make sure all of our voices are heard and that there is a seat at the table for all.
Come join the movement!"

21 new households joined our Co-op last week!
DFC is now 1012 member-owners strong!
