Dorchester Food Co-op (DFC) is more than just a grocery store; we are a community and worker-owned establishment dedicated to making healthy food accessible and fostering economic opportunity through neighborhood engagement. Bringing local, organic, and sustainable product options to the Dorchester community is a key part of accomplishing our mission.
With this in mind, we wanted to highlight one product we are excited to be offering in store: Equal Exchange Coffee.
Equal Exchange
In line with our commitment to ethical sourcing, we are thrilled about our partnership with Equal Exchange, a Fairtrade worker-owned co-op headquartered in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Equal Exchange offers a wide range of fair trade and organic products, including coffee, chocolate, tea, cocoa, and snacks, all sourced directly from small-scale, independent farmers in South & Central America and Africa.
Equal Exchange's mission goes beyond delivering exceptional products; it aims to build long-term trade partnerships that are economically just and environmentally sound. Their dedication to fostering mutually beneficial relationships between farmers and consumers perfectly aligns with DFC's values.

Purchase Beans In Store
While our in-store cafe allows you to experience the rich flavors of Equal Exchange Coffee, you can also take home your favorite beans. We offer a variety of roasts, including Love Buzz, Breakfast Blend, Mind Body and Soul, French Roast, Peru Medium, and Colombian Full City. Your purchase of these coffee beans not only treats you to a great cup of coffee but also contributes to a better world through fair trade and cooperative values.
