Welcome Mea Johnson - DFC Community Organizer

The DFC is excited to introduce Mea Johnson, our new Community Organizer and member-owner!

When Mea is not in the kitchen baking it up, you can find her forest bathing in Franklin Park while drinking coffee in her well-traveled mug. This Aquarius loves big ideas and working with others to make them happen! She believes in unicorns and grit. The magic of being a Mom of a 20-year-old son has taught her to embrace all the goodness of each day!

Mea has devoted the last 17 years of her life as a community organizer and an activist, working in Greater Boston and across the country. She has worked on a wide range of issues, from childcare to transit, and currently works with communities that are fighting environmental injustices and pollutant issues.

Mea says: "As part of my work, I've learned that it was not enough to fight the bad. We, as communities, have to seed and build the good. So for the last ten years I've been a part of building co-ops, both worker-owner and housing."

Mea is here to talk, walk and support building the store of our dreams.
Feel free to connect with her by email: mjohnson@dorchesterfoodcoop.com
