Construction Updates!

Thank you to all of our member-owners for supporting Dorchester Food Co-Ops’ mission to challenge the traditional food system by building community and worker-owned assets that nourish, employ, and reinvest in the local community. Our new location, 195 Bowdoin Street, is in full swing with construction!

Here’s what has happened since construction started on September 6, 2022 :

• We received the keys to our space on July 28, 2022, from VietAID

• We found a general contractor, One Way Development, a minority-owned construction company, and anticipate completing the build in 6 months!

• We have finished framing out the walls in the back of the store, underground trenching, plumbing, data, and electrical work.

Here’s what’s next:

• Preparing to pour the concrete slab for the front of the store.

• Finding a general manager!
